Treetop Cafe closes to nearby park where children can play around safely, that is called Wulaba Park.

Sydney is opening a new adventure playground in the Green Square development to cater to the mostly young community moving into the precinct. The park's name, Wulaba comes from the Aboriginal word in the Gadigal language for ‘rock wallaby’ that was once a regular sight around Waterloo. In fact, several parks in Green Square carry Gadigal language names inspired by fauna once native to the area, including Dyuralya Park (brolga), Mulgu Park (black swan), Buming Park (red bill or oyster catcher) and Biyanbing Park (quail).

Located in the 278-hectare Green Square development area includes the suburbs of Beaconsfield and Zetland, and parts of Rosebery, Alexandria and Waterloo, Wulaba Park features a giant slide, climbing tower, tunnels, nets and swings, Green Square’s newest child-friendly park on Amelia Street near the corner of O’Dea Avenue in Waterloo. Wulaba Park is one of more than 15 new parks and open spaces being built in the area. Covering more than 4,000sqm of outdoor space, the park features a landscaped picnic and barbecue area, bike racks, and handball and table tennis courts. It was designed with equipment and activities are positioned within a range of surfaces and spaces forming interesting and adventurous play areas. Besides, seating and quiet areas are incorporated into the play spaces with low retaining walls, boulders and custom seating providing a range of options.
